Alteil Set 10: Ascarat

If you are using a grim count deck, then Ascarat is a wonderful addition to your arsenal. Let's take a look at her skills and stats:

She's a level 4 card with 60 HP and can be considered a decent tank or wall. Her Start Skill, Silver Shield Spell seems to support this role. The HP healing is a bit weak though, since most grim count decks don't even reach grim counts of 20, so expect the amount of healing to be between 10 and 20 HP. The defense she provides to units on both her left and right is a bonus. I've seen a deck where Giant Sea Hunter is used alongside Ascarat and Giant Sea Hunter's shields reach 30 DF.

Her Action Skill, Silver Slash is ok, if you want the additional 10 DF. It comes at a cost of 1 grim count. If you are at the early stages of a match, that can be costly.

But her Auto skill is why I consider Ascarat a late game card, similar to Solar Kingdom's Aliria or Big Refess' True Emperor Retear. Are you down to your last copy of Mirelia on the field, use Forbidden Book, and hope that Ascarat pulls a copy of her back into your file. She even returns Forbidden Book to your file. Make sure you pack three copies of Forbidden Book in the file to ensure that this skill keeps on triggering.

With Ocean King Vondora, Mirelia, Alna, and Bernet, Ascarat probably makes grim count decks very formidable. Will Grim Count become the new Meta? I'm hoping it becomes top tier, and we might just see that in months to come.

  1. Careful using Silver Slash out of habit. Nothing like buffing Ascarat with 200++ DF from an Elite Mage Knight SS, then using Silver Slash to bring the DF back to 10. LOL
