Alteil: Shvara

Suicide decks aren't new. You usually have LeBeau, Crest Halberd Soldier, Angry Mob, Lelein, Zu-jyuva, and Francis as cards you can place in a suicide deck. What do they have in common? They all have a close skill which ends up damaging, decreasing the maximum HP or instantly killing an enemy unit.

Shvara takes this ability one step further with the close skill "Final Temptation to Forget". With an activation cost of 1 SP, it does damage equal to 50% of Shvara's current ATK power to two random enemy units. It then sends one random enemy unit of HP 0 or lower to the cemetery. If I am not mistaken, Shvara is the first card with a close skill that sends the enemy card to the cemetery. Its a merciless death / deathmaker for 1 SP and if you have three copies of Shvara, it can possibly trigger thrice.

Cards like Angry mob and Wounding sword are useful for boosting Shvara's attack power to ensure that the enemy unit will end up in the graveyard. Cards like Sacrifice (999 damage) can even be used to trigger the close skill and kill an opposing unit. And Shvara's close skill is not limited by his RNG being equal to 1.

I've seen Shvara being mixed mostly with Big Black decks and Suicide decks. I've yet to see a Shvara revival deck, somewhat similar in concept to an Afel revival deck. (Afel has the benefit of wiping the entire enemy field so I guess a revival theme is more suitable for him). But I am curious to see how a deck with Shvara, healing priest, oversouls and revives would fare in Folrart Arena.

So if you are wondering which card turns out to be the gem in Batora Ex 2, make no mistake about it, Lawtia players got it this time.
